31656- RARE & EXCELLENT CIVIL WAR CASED BEAUMONT-ADAMS MODEL 1856 PERCUSSION 54 BORE DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER CIRCA 1860. The same model as the famous British revolver carried by Gen. Stonewall Jackson now in the Museum of the Confederacy. All original and matching in the 30,xxx range – the same serial range as Jackson’s Beaumont-Adams. .44 cal. (54 Bore) with 6.25 inch octagon barrel with Kerr’s Patent loading lever on left side. Top strap engraved “DEANE & SONS, LONDON BRIDGE”. Right side of frame engraved “ADAMS PATENT” with the serial number. London proofs on cylinder and barrel. Excellent condition with most of the original blue and case hardening with light use. Walnut checkered grip also in excellent condition with perfect checkering. Perfect working order and excellent bore and chambers. Cased in the original London oak case with the original green baize lining and the original label printed “DEANE & SONS/GUN MAKERS/TO H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT/30 KING WILLIAM STREET/LONDON BRIDGE”. With all the excellent original accessories including the mold, cleaning rod, nipple wrench, cap tin and bag shaped flask. An exceptionally advanced type of revolver at the time these were favored by a number of Confederate high ranking officers. Imported into the South prior to the start of the war they were also run thru the blockade during the war.
